Why dont the rich clubs - in order to be vroned Premier League Champs - just offer 150 million to every other club in the Premiership? It will avoid all the effort and futility of playing 38 games?

Cynical? Who me?

I would rather see Man City win the league any day, over Arsenal ,Spurs ,Chelsea, Liverpool or Man Utd.

The only time I would want them to fuck up, is if it would benefit ourselves...

Be careful what you wish for...

That's my view as well

Good luck to City, they have suffered for decades living in the shadow of that other club in Manchester, so I'm all for City grinding them and Chelsea in to the dirt

If this means the slow death of Man U and Chelsea. And Liverpool and Spurs with even a less chance of getting a sniff of the title. Surely this is a good thing.?

Re: Pep taking over at man city in the summer
I think people that say he is lucky or say he's always been at the best clubs are doing him a bit of a dis-service.

Let's not forget when he took over at Barca from Rjikard that was a team in decline. Still a very good team but it was in decline to the standards that it had reached before and was on its way down.

Guardiola still had a lot of work to do to get them really firing again. His first job was to off-load Ronaldinho, Deco, Thuram and Eto who were huge players at he time. But he moved them on quickly as he never saw them as part of the future. Plus a whole host of other less high profile players. They won the treble that year.

He then brought in Alves, Pique and Keita. Who all went on to be really successful. Then later on got in Ibrahimovich. Later on Mascherano, Fabregas, Sanchez. Jordi Alba.

Look at the signings. Proper players. I know Barca have the funds and the pull but he knows the players he wants to suit his methods and those signings had to come in and do it his way.

He won 14 trophies in for season at Barca. Yes, he had great players to work with but if you aren't a great manager I do not believe you can work with great players. You need to be able to manage and coach the biggest and best players. That is not easy.

I think he had it all pretty sewn up at Bayern. But again you can't just go in and start working with the worlds biggest and best players without being one of the best yourself. You have to understand them and be able to coach them.

He is one of the best ever. No doubt. But, his biggest test will be at City. They have the funds but they certainly do not have the status and history of success that Barca and Bayern have.

He will also be joining a team that is in need of changes, re-shaping and developing. He did that at Barca successfully but can he do it at City? And they certainly won't be afforded the ease of obtaining points that Barca and Bayern get from the majority of their competitors in their leagues.

It will be interesting.

ason won the treble.

Up to that point he'd only managed Barca B so for someone to complete a transition of that success is particularly outstanding.

nbelievable.

I am still a fool.

Martial scored 6 in one game so I spent £150m trying to get him for 9 months.

I didn't want him. Didn't need him.

I just don't like being told no.

He's done fuck all since and I've let him rot in the reserves and Tweeted some racial abuse about him in the media*

*last bit may not be true but I so want the function to do that

Its hard to tell how good he is, because he doesn't seem to have managed in adversity.

Mourinho won the champions league at Porto - that can't have been easy. Fergie at Aberdeen and re-building Man U etc

But most amazing is this Sarri bloke at Napoli.

I have that on my phone. Now at Burnley after getting Kidderminster promoted twice but only ever play when stuck in a waiting room or on a train or something. On the old version I eventually won the European Cup with Dagenham thanks to a stint of commuting to West London everyday. So I'm probably better than Guardiola, really.

I love those cheats.

Messi scored 68 goals for West Ham in 2021 on my iPhone.

But Cavani is the one. Absolute beast... Him and Payet still pulling the strings and winning everything in sight.

Re: Pep taking over at man city in the summer
Guardiola at City will be like playing Football Manager with a cheat code for unlimited resources and every player on the world stage 'interested'. It will also be just as boring, predictable and unimpressive when he wins against much poorer resourced opposition.

No Bolty I just think people are thinking so fucking what... he goes to everywhere that has all the best resources and dosh so of course he is going to be successful.... maybe he would want a real challenge in his life and manage a team like Forest or Derby and get them to win the Prem (ala the greatest manager ever)
